RHOC: Sean Burke Backs Up Braunwyn & Seeks to Have Lawsuit Tossed

ScreenRant - Feed

The Real Housewives of Orange County star Braunwyn Windham-Burke is receiving support from her husband Sean Burke amid their eviction lawsuit. Braunwyn and Sean were recently slapped with a lawsuit by a landlord who accuses them of owing $45,000 in back rent. But the married couple claim they weren't aware of the rental issues and deny the woman's claims. But with the lawsuit coming after Braunwyn and Sean revealed their plans to move and away from each other, it looks like one of the Burkes might not be telling the full truth.

Braunwyn and Sean probably felt like they were doing the right thing by giving fans an update on their unconventional marriage. But things quickly went left in the days after their "trial separation" announcement. The recently terminated show star took to Instagram Live to announce that she and Sean have decided to take some time apart with Braunwyn going to Hawaii with their kids while Sean moves into another rental property in Newport Beach. The couple assured their supporters that all is well between them and they are happy with their current state. Braunwyn is still dating RHOC season 6 star Fernanda Rocha and Sean is actually moving into a home that is owned by one of Fernanda's friends.

But not everyone was supportive of their big news. The landlord on the home they were living in sued them for eviction and back owed rent. In response, Sean has come forward and decided to take all the blame telling Page Six that Braunwyn “is not involved in this matter at all.” While Braunwyn and Sean denied Karen Ogden's claims of being evicted, the property owner stood firm on her allegations and said she just wants them to pay up so she can be done with all the stress Braunwyn and Sean have caused her. The Bravo stars responded claiming they didn't learn about the alleged eviction until it hit the press.

However, Sean is now claiming that Braunwyn is innocent despite being named in the lawsuit. "It has been made clear repeatedly that I am in control of all financial matters, which includes rent," Sean said in a statement. "We were both unaware of a civil case filing until it was published online.” While Ogden accuses the couple of not paying rent for three months and owing her $45,000, Sean claims “this is a matter of a maximum $7,500 discrepancy, due to the substantial security deposit held.” The father of seven adds that he finds the situation “unfortunate” but “is seemingly easy to reconcile and resolve.”

He also followed up with a legal request asking the judge to toss out Ogden's suit. The legal woes come only after Braunwyn and Sean posted their "experiment" separation on Instagram last week. The couple feels their trial split will be healthy for them to decide if they want to get a divorce or not. Braunwyn and Sean are still married despite openly admitting to not being romantically involved. Sean says he is comfortable with Braunwyn's lesbian status and supports The Real Housewives of Orange County alum and her current relationship with Fernanda. Now on to paying that back owed rent.
