Fallout Worlds Lets Players Build Their Own Appalachia On Private Servers

ScreenRant - Feed

A new Fallout 76 feature, Fallout Worlds, will allow players to customize the game's world using a wide range of new settings. The online role-playing game, developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks, was launched to wide criticism and negative reception. However, Bethesda has continued supporting the title in order to improve and expand upon the original release.

Bethesda has made a concerted effort to improve Fallout 76 since the game's disastrous launch in November 2018. Fallout 76's recently released Steel Reign DLC has been praised by fans for its deep narrative direction and climactic conclusion of the game's Brotherhood of Steel storyline. The questline is fairly brief, but the short expansion brings up many of the moral quandaries that Fallout fans are fond of encountering in the apocalyptic wasteland. The recent downloadable content also sets up the future of Fallout 76's Appalachia, with the Brotherhood of Steel's fate resting in the hands of the player character. Other than an impressive storyline, Steel Reign also includes a number of gameplay additions for players to enjoy in the deadly wasteland. The DLC includes powerful new Brotherhood power armor, a new rotating vendor, and new areas to explore.

Fallout Worlds, recently announced by Bethesda, will allow Fallout 76 players to customize Appalachia and its rules. A huge host of server settings will allow players to adjust mechanics such as building restrictions, survival mechanics, creature spawns, weather effects, and jumping height. Fallout 76 will feature a rotating series of Public Worlds, which are worlds that were hand-crafted by Bethesda and available to all players. Meanwhile, Custom Worlds will allow players to create their own Fallout experience within a private server by altering numerous gameplay settings. Fallout Worlds will be introduced to Fallout 76 in an update coming in September.

While Bethesda continues to improve and expand Fallout 76, the online role-playing title is still plagued by technical issues. The game suffered from countless bugs and glitches upon release, and these problems continue to persist today. The Steel Reign expansion introduced a number of exploits and weapon hacks, with many innocent players being griefed by these cheaters. The most recent case of hacking involved a player utilizing an enormous amount of explosives at once, blinding and killing honest players.

Despite Bethesda's best efforts, Fallout 76 has not recovered from its disastrous launch more than two years ago. While Fallout Worlds looks like a fun and extensive way to customize a game experience, this new game mode will not fix the game's core issues. While playing Fallout in zero gravity or with unlimited ammunition does sound fun, the upcoming update is unlikely to reinvigorate Fallout 76's player base.
