America Ferrera has been cast in the series WeCrashed, joining Anne Hathaway and Jared Leto. The AppleTV+ miniseries will dive into the story and scandal of the startup company, WeWork, and is based on the Wondery podcast, WeCrashed: The Rise and Fall of WeWork. The drama is created and written by Lee Eisenberg and Drew Crevello, with Eisenberg having previously co-created Little America for AppleTV+ and written for The Office. Leto will star as the co-founder of the company, Adam Neumann, while Hathaway will portray his wife Rebekah Neumann, a key role at WeWork. Kyle Marvin has also been cast as Miguel McKelvey, who co-founded WeWork with Neumann.

Variety has now brought word that Ferrera has been added to the cast of WeCrashed, portraying Elishia Kennedy, a brilliant young entrepreneur who is seduced into joining WeWork and has her life turned upside down. Ferrera is an Emmy winner for Ugly Betty and just recently finished her run on the sitcom, Superstore. She is also known for voicing Astrid Hofferson in the How to Train Your Dragon franchise and has worked behind the scenes serving as an executive producer and director of Netflix's Gentefied.

Having Ferrera on board brings an exciting edge to the limited series as the actress, who is best known for her roles in comedy shows, gets to tackle more dramatic territory and go head-to-head with two Oscar winners. Eisenberg, Crevello, Hathaway, and Leto will all serve as executive producers of the show. WeCrashed is set to have eight episodes and more details about the series are sure to be announced, but Ferrera's involvement certainly garners promise.
